A live-in domestic helper can make a real difference to an elderly parent at home: company through the day, meals, housework and an extra pair of hands. A helper is not a nurse. If your parent needs nursing or medical care, a care centre may be the better answer, and we will tell you so.
What do we arrange?
We place a foreign domestic helper, or a local caregiver or helper, with your family. Your family is the legal employer, never us or any group company. We find and place the person and help you with the steps; we do not employ caregivers ourselves and send them to you.
What can a domestic helper do for an elderly parent?
Everyday help at home: keeping the house, cooking for the family, keeping your parent company and helping with the daily routine. Before you choose, tell us honestly what your parent needs by day and by night, so we can say whether a helper is the right fit.
What is outside a helper's role?
Nursing and medical care. We make no claim that a helper we place has nursing or medical training. If your parent needs care that a nurse or doctor should give, or more help than one person at home can safely manage, a helper on her own is not enough.
Can my family hire a foreign helper to care for a parent?
The Immigration Department (JIM) lists a sick or ill parent at home as one of the grounds for a family to employ a foreign domestic helper, alongside having children under 15. When is a care centre the better answer?
