Your family can hire a domestic helper from abroad if your household meets the Immigration Department's rules. We are a licensed agency: we go through the rules with you, place the helper and help with each step. Throughout, your family is the helper's legal employer, never one of our group companies.
Does your family qualify?
The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) sets the rules for employing a foreign domestic helper. Its Foreign Domestic Helper page, last checked 4 Nov 2026, includes these:
- Your household has children under 15, or a parent who is ill.
- As a rule, one domestic helper per family; more than one needs a higher income.
- Muslim employers may employ only a Muslim domestic helper.
- An employer who is bankrupt cannot apply.
- The helper must be a woman aged 21 to 45 and medically fit.
JIM also sets a minimum net income for the employer and a personal bond, which depend on the helper's home country. We go through these with you before you apply.

How hiring from abroad works
The steps are set by the Immigration Department: a Visa With Reference (VDR) application, the visa issued at the Malaysian mission abroad, a FOMEMA medical check within a month of arrival, then the Visitor's Pass Sticker (Temporary Employment), written PL(KS).
