This guide is published by Maids in Malaysia, the trading name of Agensi Pekerjaan Genesis Life Care Sdn Bhd, a maid agency holding PEA Licence B No. 1681. In short: you may qualify if your household has a child under 15 or a sick or ill parent, and your income meets the level the Immigration Department (JIM) sets for the helper's home country. The answers below give JIM's rules and, labelled as advice, the Ministry of Human Resources guidelines, each with its source and the date we last checked it. Your family is the helper's legal employer, never one of our group companies.

JIM's rule is a household of an employer and spouse with a child under 15 years old, or with sick or ill parents. JIM also sets a minimum net monthly income, which depends on the helper's home country. Meeting these rules does not guarantee approval.
